What To Expect
Reservations/Bookings –
To help secure your desired appointment day and time, we recommend scheduling your appointment as far in advance as possible to ensure availability and avoid disappointment.
*Please notify us of any allergies or sensitivities to aromas at the time of making your booking, so we can ensure any essential oil burners or diffusers are switched off prior to your arrival.
Arrival At Your Appointment –
We recommend you plan to arrive for your treatment approximately 10 minutes before your first session, and 5 minutes before any subsequent session. This allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience and ensures there is time for you to fill out the appropriate forms. This time will include a brief discussion with the therapist, allows for any physical assessments to be carried out, and for you to prepare for your massage. Please do not start to disrobe while the therapist is speaking with you, there will be time for this once the therapist has left the room.
All treatment sessions have a specific time schedule, arriving on time allows you to make the most of your massage. If a late arrival is unavoidable, your session may still need to finish on time to keep on schedule for the next client. Likewise, it is preferred that you are not too early for your appointment.
There is much to be done between client appointments. Waiting to arrive until your scheduled booking time allows the therapist to give their full time to the previous client, process treatment notes, sanitise the room and set the table with clean linen. They may also need to have a quick drink, take a bathroom break or simply give their body a short rest. Providing massage is quite physical. All of this allows them to be fully prepared to give you their undivided attention upon your arrival.
What Next? –
Upon arrival of your first visit (only) you will be asked to fill in a ‘client intake/consent’ form which requests information relevant to the treatment to be performed and requires your signature to state that you have read the information, understand it, and agree to comply with the professional massage policies and procedures.
The therapist will then have a quick look over the forms and take you through to the treatment room. You will have a discussion regarding information provided, your noted issues, and expectations for the treatment. Some assessments may be done prior to you removing your clothing, more may be done throughout the treatment. The therapist will advise of the preparation and table positioning required for the treatment to commence, and will then run through the plan for the session (tailored to suit each client’s individual needs). The therapist will then leave the room while you disrobe, allowing time for you to get comfortable on the table and cover yourself with the linen provided.
Important Information:
- Please do not move past reception to the treatment room until the therapist has indicated for you to do so.
- Although you may be keen to get on the table and commence the massage, Please do not start removing your clothing while the therapist is trying to have a discussion with you. Wait until the therapist has left the room.
Respect For Client Wishes –
The areas of the body that need to be worked on will dictate what clothing needs to be removed. Generally, if both the upper and lower areas need attention you will be asked to disrobe to your underpants (rest assured you will be well covered by the table linen). Some ladies may prefer to leave their bra on, this is fine. If you are not comfortable about having to remove certain items of clothing please mention this to the therapist, other means of treatment can then be considered and discussed with you.
If you experience any pain during the treatment, please inform the therapist so that the pressure/techniques can be adjusted to suit your level of comfort. You may ask the therapist to work longer on an area or move on, and you may stop the massage at any time. The therapist is happy to adjust room temperature, musical volume or level of lighting to suit your preferences.
